More action from part #2 of the 'Hyboria Campaign' with 'Battle Command Ancients & Medieval'. (Otherwise known as 'what you do when you have completely random but small collections of old 25mm Ancients & Medievals'...) The forces are based heavily upon the old 1975 FGU publication 'Royal Armies of the Hyborian Age' by Lin Carter. with Campaign ladder and main ideas from 'Maudlin Jack Tarr's' excellent blog.

| An argument over the Princess's credit card bill |
Brythunian mercenaries appear to have probed further into Nemedia, chasing the force that managed to rescue Princess Zamora last time (Clearly with that turncoat Conan's help).
 |
| Best set of rules for this kind of thing... |
Nemedians have retained most of their core knights, and Brythunians have kept most of their pike and heavy infantry...The Nemedians, despite having a good defensive position, suffered terribly on their flank, even having to bring mounted Nobles (Knights from the opposite flank) to help. |
| A true classic |
Brythunian medium cavalry stared at the foot knights on their right flank most of the day, all the action happening on the centre and left.Conan, as previously, threatened and postured greatly at the start of battle, then retired to the village for a wine or three.
 |
| How it should have ended? |
He appeared at game start, then no further initiative ties meant that he watched from a safe distance...I begin to doubt his convictions (or maybe he and Princess Zamora were 'busy'...playing dice of course..where is your filthy mind?)..jpg) |
| The Brythunian mercenary contingent, now deep in Nemedian territory, and still annoyed... |
.jpg) |
| yeah...keep an eye on that left flank attack |
.jpg) |
| Knights face Brythunian pike in the centre...now someone is going to get a bloody nose... |
.jpg) |
| The developing Brythiunian left...carnage begins |
.jpg) |
| On the right, ensconced knights welcome Conan in - who does nothing for the rest of the battle, while both sides stare at each other |
.jpg) |
| Lots of action on the left as high ground is taken and lost, Nemedian archers do considerable damage, and cavalry sets up for charging |
.jpg) |
| Staring...staring...not moving |
.jpg) |
| Brythunian pike advance steadily in the centre..Nemedian attacks hold great potential, but bounce off |
.jpg) |
| The Nemedians, losing 4 units on their right flank, now send in the heavies |
.jpg) |
| It doesn't end well |
.jpg) |
| Next time...a river defence...deeeeep in Nemedia. Conan buggers off, ...presumably with Princess Zamora. He will be back - but on whose side? |
 |
| Next time...there will even be arrows on a map...honest... |
